The Recycling Centre on Hassall Road in Skegness is the Head/Registered Office of Seagull Recycling Ltd,
contains a small classroom equipped with some ICT equipment and offers admin, retail, literacy/numeracy/ICT support and warehouse opportunities, as well as volunteering and work placement opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
A variety of vocational and academic qualifications can take place here and can encompass real-life work placement and work experience opportunities.
It also doubles as a wet weather environment used by learners when the cold wet or snowy Winter weather at the Eco Centre becomes too bad.
The small Craft & Resource facility inside the Recycling Centre is where non-profit making groups, schools charities and other community groups can attend to take items that have been diverted from landfill at highly subsidised rates and use them for craft, educational or fundraising purposes for their group.
Many diverse local, county, national and international groups use the facilities.
The Craft & Resource Centre is open Monday to Friday to allow groups to visit outside of their normal hours of work so all people have access at some time throughout the week.
At the current time, members are avidly signing a petition as they need us to expand and develop the range and quantity of materials on offer to them.
This is unique project within Lincolnshire but one which should be present in every major town as demand always outstrips supply
